The C List

Last Update : 01/28/06

Artist: CKY
Title: Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild
Tracks/Duration: 10/33:48
Best Song: Attatched at the Hip
Worst Song: Frenetic Amnesic

I kind of went out on a limb with this one, as I'd only heard one song from it before the purchase. But it was recommended by a pretty credible source, so I figured I couldn't lose. Just so happens I was right. While it's not a top-tier CD, it's certainly worth it's weight in something reasonably valuable. The thing is that it's another one of those really short CDs. I like a CD that will last the whole bus ride to the University, and when a CD just barely goes over half an hour, that's just not gonna do. Otherwise, though, it's good stuff. Some of the songs are a bit off-sounding, and I can't place exactly how, but for the most part it's okay. "Attatched at the Hip", "Plastic Pal" and "Sproradic Movement" are all great songs, and they even manage to pull off an excellent slow song with "Close Yet Far". Recommended.

Artist: Robin Beanland (feat. Rabbit in the Moon & Dweezil Zappa)
Title: Conker Live & Reloaded Official Soundtrack
Tracks/Duration: 21/1:12:52
Best Song: Surf Punks (remix by Dweezil Zappa)
Worst Song: Three Towers

This was the fist video game soundtrack that I've ever seen in a store, and it was Wal-Mart to boot. Any other game soundtracks, I've had to import or order directly from Nintendo. And what luck, it was the Conker soundtrack. I've never played Live & Reloaded, but since I enjoyed the Bad Fur Day soundtrack, I picked it up. Lucky me, it's exactly that. While it includes a handful of remixes, but it's mostly the original stuff. There are a couple issues, however. Firstly, they censored Sloprano. Boo-urns. The second issue is that the second half of the CD is mostly just moody ambiance, which doesn't make for such good listening. Last downside is that Windy has been cut down to 3:22, whilst the version you can score off a P2P is a full-chested 7+ minutes. On the upside, the Surf Punks remix is incredible, and it comes with a bonus DVD with some neat extras. Recommended, as long as you don't hate video game music.
